Angerbrandt Announces Candidacy For Graceville City Commission Group 4

Samantha Reed Angerbrandt announces her candidacy for Graceville City Commission Group 4, marking a new chapter in a lifetime of service to the community she proudly calls home.

“This decision was not made lightly,” Angerbrandt said. “After much prayer, reflection, and listening, I believe this is where God is leading me at this moment in my life.”

A lifelong resident of Graceville, Angerbrandt represents generations of family roots in the area. Her great grandfather, Eddie Lee Thomas, farmed more than 1,000 acres along Highway 2 between Graceville and Campbellton more than 80 years ago. Both of her parents were raised here, and she, too, grew up in Graceville, graduating from Graceville High School in 2005. She later earned an associate degree in Communications from Chipola College and completed a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Business from Troy University, focusing on business management and microeconomics.

Following college, Angerbrandt built a career in publishing and media, gaining experience in government relations, publicity, and advertising. After working at both the national and regional levels, she ultimately returned home to serve as a reporter for The Graceville News, believing that promoting and growing her hometown was her true calling.

In July 2022, Angerbrandt purchased one of Graceville’s oldest businesses, The Graceville News. Since then, she has expanded its reach by creating multiple sports special editions highlighting local athletes and launching a new monthly publication, The Good News. Through her work in local media, she has spent more than a decade attending city meetings, covering civic events, and listening to the concerns and ideas of residents from every walk of life. She has consistently attended city meetings since 2014 and has remained deeply involved in community and civic organizations for more than ten years.

“For the past 12 years, I have been present in this community, attending meetings, walking through local events, and spending countless hours listening to people who simply want their voices to be heard,” Angerbrandt said. She has listened to senior citizens, supported community initiatives, and sought to ensure that even the most vulnerable feel respected and heard. She continued, “Through my work and service, I have had the privilege of capturing Graceville’s history and memories, but more importantly, understanding the hopes, concerns, and ideas of the people who call this town home.”

Her service extends far beyond the newsroom. Angerbrandt is a Youth League Basketball Coach, a member of the Graceville Lions Club, Vice President of the Graceville Woman’s Club, a Sunday School teacher for the tweens at Graceville First Assembly of God, and director of the Miss Graceville Pageant. She has also worked closely with local schools and youth programs, believing that investing in children and families is essential to the city’s future.

“I believe every citizen deserves both a voice and a choice in local government,” she said. “I am committed to listening, asking questions, and working transparently on behalf of the people of Graceville.”

Angerbrandt commented, “I was born and raised in Graceville, alongside generations of my mother’s and father’s families. I am deeply proud of our town’s rich history and its reputation as a place rooted in grace. Today, my husband Dennis and I are raising our daughter here, and I am grateful for the many people who work every day to make Graceville stronger not just for her, but for every citizen. When I attend school programs, sporting events, and community gatherings, I see incredible potential in our youth and a real promise for our town’s future.”

If elected, Angerbrandt says she will serve with faith, knowledge, transparency, and a true heart for the community.

“I humbly ask for your consideration in this year’s election,” she said. “Rooted here. Serving here.”
