At your service, Chephus Granberry Advanced Certified School Board Member Candidate for Re-Election, District 1

It is with great humility and enthusiasm that I, Chephus Dyvonn Granberry, announce my candidacy for re-election to the Jackson County School Board, District 1.

My wife, Beverly Renea Granberry, and I are both native and lifelong residents of Jackson County, Florida. Both of us, along with our daughters, Brianna Rache’ and Cydney Dyvonn, graduated from the Jackson County Public Education System. My wife is currently in her 30th year as a teacher at the Opportunity Center for Jackson County Schools in Marianna.

For more than 33 years, I have proudly served the students, families, and employees of our school district in a variety of roles, including bus driver, data entry specialist, paraprofessional, administrative assistant, district volunteer coordinator, district public relations coordinator, transportation fleet manager, and now as your School Board Member. These experiences have given me a unique understanding of our school system—from the classroom to the boardroom.

As your School Board Member, I have remained committed to being accessible, approachable, and responsive to the needs of our community. Leadership begins with listening, and I have worked hard to be available to students, parents, teachers, staff, and taxpayers whenever they need a voice or an advocate.

My commitment to our district goes beyond my elected position. Even today, I continue to serve as a volunteer bus driver two to three days each week when needed because I believe in leading by example and supporting our schools in every way possible.

Over the past term, I have worked diligently to ask important questions, promote accountability, and support student achievement. My goal has been to ensure that every decision the board makes is in the best interest of our children. More specifically, I have helped secure increased state and federal funding, including improvements to the Base Student Allocation (BSA), transportation, safe schools, and ESE funding. Additionally, we returned decisions regarding school start times to local districts, because those closest to our communities understand our students’ needs best.

I respectfully ask for your continued trust, support, and vote as we work together to build on our successes and create even greater opportunities for every student. Together, we can continue moving Jackson County Schools forward.
