Four Lady Tigers Say Goodbye To Graceville Softball As Graduation Nears

Graceville High School celebrated its senior softball players on Thursday, April 18 with a special pre-game ceremony. The team will lose four seniors this year as Camille Britt, Nyomi Daniels, Vanessa Rollins, and Jayda Wesley prepare for graduation at the end of the May.

Camille Britt is the daughter of Georgia and Jake Allen. She plays right field for the Lady Tigers and has played softball since sixth grade commenting that she had took off two years in high school, but this was her “comeback year”. Her favorite thing about softball is playing with her teammates and her favorite thing about being a Lady Tiger “is the friendship and bonds that we are making on the field this season.” Her future plans are to graduate and earn her degree in Animal Science. She finished “Go Graceville!”

Nyomi Daniels is the daughter of Anita Daniels and Antonio Truitt. Nyomi plays third base for the Lady Tigers and has played softball for seven years. Her favorite thing about softball is “meeting new teammates” and her favorite thing about being a Lady Tiger is having fun in the dugout. Her future plans include going into the Marines. She finished, “Orange and Black Til Jesus Comes Back!”

Vanessa Rollins is the daughter of Leslie Prescott and Chad Dickens. Vanessa is the catcher for the Lady Tigers and has played softball for five years. Her favorite thing about softball is catching and her favorite thing about being a Lady Tiger is “the bond we all have together.” Her future plans include continuing her education before moving on to a career in the nursing sector.

Jayda Wesley is the daughter of Sharolyn and Cornelius Wesley. She plays left field for the Lady Tigers and has played softball since sixth grade. Her favorite thing about softball is “having fun with my teammates.” Her favorite thing about being a Tiger, “is meeting new friends everyday.” Her future plans include continuing her education to receive her nursing degree. She finished reminding her younger teammates to, “have fun while you can, it goes by fast.”
