The Graceville Arts League hosted a night of singing with the GAL Choral Festival. It was held at First Baptist Church in Graceville on Monday, September 11 at 7:00 PM. The program included four local choirs, beautiful music, and wonderful fellowship.
Graceville Arts League Director Dr. Jerry Windsor opened the program welcoming all to the wonderful event. With the sanctuary filled with people eager for the evening, Dr. Buford Cox introduced the first choir.
The first choir to perform was Bethel Baptist Church lead by Director Karon Register. The group performed I Shall Wear a Crown and Life and Breath. The next group was the first Baptist College of Florida’s College Singers. This choir was led by Director of Music and Worship for BCF Doug Crawley, D.M.A. The group performed Living Hope and a beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone.
The program continued with each choir swiftly leaving and moving on to the stage. During this time the entire audience was led by Dr. Cox in singing songs of praise as well as songs of love for not only God but the USA. The first United Methodist Church choir continued the program with the choir led by Director Caroline King. The choir performed I Love You, Lord. The final choir of the night was led by Dr. Cox and it was the First Baptist Church Choir. This group performed Be Still and O Lord, My Rock and My Redeemer.
Finishing out the program, Dr. Cox called all of the choirs back up to the stage for one final performance of the song Jesus, the Name. With all gathered and the audience cited to participate the First Baptist Church sanctuary was filled with songs of praise as a finale to the event. The program was followed by refreshments as well as fellowship.
