Graceville Cheer makes noise in Georgia

ree

Graceville Tigers Cheerleaders recently attended the UCA Camp at Great Wolf Lodge in LaGrange, Georgia. The school posted on its Facebook page “That it was definitely hard, rewarding, and the girls had a lot of fun! They have learned a lot and have great things to come back home with!”

The squad brought home several trophies from the event including Superior Camp Dance, Superior Game Day, 4th Place in Small Varsity Camp Routine, Extremely Well Overall Evaluations Award, and Overall 3rd Place Small Varsity Game Day, as well as the Gold Paw Award for cleanest rooms when checking out! The school noted that the Gold Paw Award “is a big deal” posting the team is “awarded a pass to go back!” Cheerleaders Marlee Strickland and Atavia Douglas were also awarded All-American.

Lastly, Atavia Douglas was Awarded the Pin it Forward Award. Pin it forward is one of the special duties of a staffer to recognize a camper for a quality that has made them stand out. The unique moment of pinning it forward is that the staff can personally award at any time throughout the camp and for any reason. Some qualities in which the award strives to seek out include stepping up to be a leader by setting a good example for their peers, including members on other teams, a camper going above and beyond in classes including when learning routines never goes unnoticed, and an individual that has a great spirit every day is something that the staff loves to recognize! Atavia was also able to pick someone the next day that she thought should receive it as well. She picked a Pike County Middle School Cheerleader named Raelynn.
