PSHS announces next week’s Homecoming schedule

Poplar Springs High School recently announced its schedule of activities for its 2024 Homecoming week. From dress up days for students to an Atomic-filled Saturday afternoon and evening, Homecoming 2024 is already blasting off to be a good one.

The week will start for students on Tuesday, January 16 as all Holmes County schools are out in observance of Martin Luther King Day. Tuesday, students in high school will be dressing according to their grade. Freshmen will dress as babies, sophomores as teenagers, juniors as adults, and seniors as elderly. Grades in middle and elementary will pick their favorite decade and dress the part. Wednesday will be twin day and Thursday will be group/character day. Finishing out the dress up days will be Atomics, Rope the Rebels spirit day where students are encouraged to dress in western wear and show their school spirit.

Thursday and Friday will be extra busy for students. On Thursday, the school will host an Atomic Blast Community Pep Rally at 1:00 PM which will include the student’s skit presentations. On Friday, a school pep rally will be held at 1:00 PM followed by a Middle School Dance in the school lunchroom for grades fifth through eighth from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. A high school dance will follow in the school lunchroom from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Saturday will be extra busy with homecoming festivities starting at 4:00 PM with recognitions for Home- coming Court, Alumni, and Senior athletes recognition. Tip off for the first game of the night will be at 5:30 PM with the Varsity Girls game. An alumni reception in the media center will follow the girls game as well.
