Graceville’s Tiger Steel is continuing to make Graceville a more beautiful place. The Crutchfield family along with their Tiger Steel team has worked overtime in the past several years to help clean up desolate streets and areas as well as make affordable housing available for all from young to old. As the group finishes up their current Pelham Avenue project, duo Sean and India Crutchfield released new home designs from those looking for single-family homes or one-bedroom small houses to fit any single or retired person’s needs.
When asked why the duo decided to branch out to the smaller homes for those without children or families, Sean commented, “ We just saw what people were starting to need in this economy and market right now as well as what wasn’t being built and we decided we could take a stab at that. To do something that fills a need in the community and also is a better product then some of the things that people may buy to fill that need right now.” India added, “Everybody wants a 1500 square foot home but not everybody can afford that, so we’re trying to show that this is something affordable that will fill that hole a little better.”
“We want to make this a turnkey process. An easy process. If you have the property, we can come out there and take a look… that’s even why we listed the prices online.” He continued, “That’s a big deal for us, we don’t normally do that, but we decided to be as [transparent] as possible with the process.”
The company has also listed some brand new designs to go with these affordable home prices. India spoke on that process commenting, “All of the floor plans have been a collaborate process between all of us. The names, we just wanted them to be regular, everyday people.” She continued, “We wanted them to be accessible names for accessible homes.”
The designs aren’t only helpful and affordable but also sustainable. Sustainable homes has been a passion of both Sean and India with Sean noting he had studied several designs from Auburn as well as Habitat For Humanity, to help create what they feel is the most sustainable and accessible home for the current economy. “We’ve incorporated quite a lot of their little space saving things and efficiency designs into these houses.”
