West Jackson Retired Educators honors local teachers posthumously

The weather was perfect Tuesday, October 24th for the West Jackson Retired Educators annual picnic at the Graceville Park. Fried chicken, sandwiches, fruit, cookies, and chips along with lots of great fellowship made the meeting a great success. Of special importance was the Remembrance Service for Mrs. Linda Wheatley and Mrs. Nick Williams. This included the Lighting of the Candles, poems, scripture reading, and presentation of their contributions to education and the West Jackson Retired Educators.

Their families were invited. Members of Mrs. Linda Wheatley’s family photo include Chris King, Stephanie King, President Sue Johns, Richie Wheatley, Samantha Wheatley, and Cynthia Wheatley.

Members of Mrs. Nick Williams’s family photo include President Sue Johns, Lynn Bennett, John Bennett, and beloved caretaker Betty Sue Bruckner.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, November 28 at 10:30 at the Graceville School Library. All school related employees are encouraged to join the fellowship for a great program.
