Rebecca Morris-Haid, Jackson County Property Appraiser has announced that she is seeking re-election. Ms. Morris-Haid has 21 years of hands-on experience working in every aspect of the Property Appraiser’s Office including the previous 8 years as your Property Appraiser. “I gained extensive knowledge by having boots on the ground during the aftermath of Hurricane Michael and the numerous tornados that have occurred in our county. We have all endured tremendous battles since October 10, 2018. Between the hurricane, tornados, and the Covid epidemic, I have had to think on my feet and certainly think outside the box when it comes to the use of technology. During the aftermath of Hurricane Michael and during the Covid epidemic, we had to develop a plan that would allow business as usual. The computer assisted mass appraisal system has been upgraded to allow our field staff to collect data in the field. On the horizon, we are updating our current website to a more user friendly and easier to navigate site. Being your Property Appraiser, it has been a honor and privilege to serve the citizens of Jackson County in the day-to-day operations of this complex office. I know the most important factors for property roll approval by Florida Department of Revenue in order to protect property owners’ land and exemptions. I know how to stand my ground against the State in dealing with matters that will protect our County. As your Property Appraiser, I have played an important role in bringing the office to where it is today. I pledge to the citizens of Jackson County that I will continue with the same level of customer service they have grown accustomed to; continuing to serve with honesty, integrity and courtesy. My proven record of service as your State Certified Property Appraiser and my experience makes me the only qualified candidate,” Ms. Morris-Haid said.
Ms. Morris-Haid is the daughter of the late Amos and Aline Morris. She was born and raised in the Kynesville community. She graduated from Cottondale High School and attended Chipola College. Rebecca is married to George Haid and they have two children, Jessica and Robert. She has deep roots with a record of service to the community, through the Property Appraiser’s Office, the Optimist Club, the Leapin’ Lions Club, Alford Community Organization and her church, Bethlehem Baptist in Kynesville.
“Jackson County is very special to me and I would be honored to continue serving as your Property Appraiser, given the opportunity to KEEP the customer service that you have been accustomed to and deserve. Remember to KEEP EXPERIENCE in this important office by KEEPing the person that can do the job. I am asking for your support and vote on August 20th .” Ms. Morris-Haid said.
